Free consultation.

During your free consultation we'll chat about what you want from a personal trainer, we'll establish your initial goals and I'll help you complete your health and lifestyle questionnaires - these are to give me an overview of your exercise history, to help me tailor the program to cater for any medical considerations and to give me an idea about what else may be going on in your life that may effect our work.

I like to find out what types of exercise may or may not have worked for you in the past and if there's anything you particularly want to do, or not do.

The lifestyle information fills in any important gaps - for instance, if you've got a busy or stressful schedule then this will have an impact on the level of exercise intensity we'll use during a session - it could be you like to get your stress out with a bit of boxing or perhaps you prefer to unwind with pilates or some coordination work.

First session

Our first session together will be spent carrying out our body composition and fitness tests - every good plan has a beginning, a middle and an end - testing will let us know exactly where our beginning is. I'll start by taking your height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate and body fat measurements. Then, depending on your training goals we'll test your heart/lung efficiency, your recovery time, your muscular strength and muscular endurance, your flexibility, balance and your coordination.

As well as performing all these tests at the beginning of the program, we'll perform them as we progress with the plan so that we can track your progress and I can perform any fine tuning. Training plans are living things they adapt and evolve as your needs and desires change.

Training plan

Between our first and second sessions I'll create a 3-month training plan based on all of the information we have and I'll also create a nutritional plan that'll describe exactly what amounts of which foods you need to eat for your specific rate of metabolism.

Rewards

I know you wont need it but for extra motivation I also use a reward system were you can earn free training, relaxation or hypnotherapy sessions, as well as training equipment.
